Mother of Thousand a soundtrack for the ultimate road trip.
Opposed to each of us writing at home as a traditional composer writing for a saxophone quartet, this time Artvark as a collective retreated in their self build studio, developing new material together. A very exiting process experimenting, finding new forms and sounds for days. The result: Mother of Thousand, their 10th album, with new music inspired by the sound of Arvo Pärt and Aphex Twin.
On this album you will hear original Adolphe Sax saxophones from the 1860’s, very rare slide saxophones from the 1920’s, a baritone recorded with a snare drum between microphone and saxophone, a quartet moving from left to right in between the speakers. A dream world of sound and space, hypnotic patterns and genuine blues. A soundtrack for the ultimate road trip.
